The Lawrence County Government is pleased to remind its residents about the ongoing initiative of Mobile Convenience Centers, which was launched in May. This program is designed to assist those living in more remote areas by providing them with the opportunity to drop off their waste and recyclables without the need to travel into town.
Residents are encouraged to take advantage of this service, which operates weekly from 6 AM to 10 AM at various locations throughout the county. Specifically, on Tuesdays, individuals can visit the Loretto Wastewater Treatment Plant located on Busby Road. Wednesdays are designated for drop-offs at the West End Community Club on Waynesboro Highway. For those looking to dispose of their items on Thursdays, the Summertown Fire Hall on Highway 20 will be available. Finally, on Fridays, the New Prospect Fire Hall on Pulaski Highway will serve as a drop-off point.
This initiative aims to make waste disposal more accessible for all residents, particularly those in outlying areas, ensuring that everyone has the opportunity to participate in responsible waste management.
