The Lawrence County Sheriff’s Office is currently conducting an investigation into an incident of vandalism that took place last week. Reports indicate that on March 5th, the School Resource Officer at Summertown High School was informed by a bus driver that their bus had been vandalized while parked on the school campus. The vandalized bus had black spray paint on its stop sign, while the brick welcome sign of Summertown High School was also painted black.
Surveillance cameras captured footage of three individuals dressed in dark clothing walking up West College Street on March 4th around 10:14 PM. These individuals were observed in the vicinity of the school bus and the entrance to the baseball field. Upon reviewing the footage, authorities checked the baseball area and found that offensive graffiti had been sprayed onto the wall of the concession stand.
