On Saturday, authorities appealed to the community for assistance in finding a vehicle linked to a hit-and-run incident that tragically resulted in the death of a pedestrian in Loretto. By Saturday afternoon, officials announced that both the vehicle and its driver had been identified and located. The unfortunate event occurred at approximately 2:20 a.m. on U.S. Highway 43, close to Smith Circle, where the pedestrian was struck. At this time, further details surrounding the incident have not been disclosed. The Tennessee Highway Patrol is actively conducting an investigation into the matter.
