Virginia Louise Pettus, age 90, of Loretto, TN, passed away at home on June 7, 2025, surrounded by her loving family and friends. Born on May 1, 1935, to Herman and Leo Creekmore, Virginia was a devoted mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, and friend. She lived a life guided by her unwavering faith and her profound love for her family.
Virginia was united in marriage with the love of her life on September 7, 1952, and she and Olen shared 62 years of cherished togetherness until his passing. She held onto the hope of reuniting with him in Heaven.
She is survived by her son, Jimmy Dale Pettus (Rita) of Greenhill, AL; daughter, Phyllis Conner (Darrell) of Summertown, TN; brother, Glenn Creekmore of Lexington, AL; grandchildren, Troy Pettus (Mary Beth) of Greenhill, AL, Chad Pettus (Bethany) of Muscle Shoals, AL, and Kayla Conner of Summertown, TN; and great-grandchildren, Ally Kate and Addy Karsen Pettus, and Jack, Jon Brody, and Eli Pettus.
Virginia was a beloved member of State Line Grove Baptist Church. Visitation will be held on Wednesday, June 11, 2025, from 4:00-7:00 P.M at Greenhill Funeral Home, with the funeral service following on Thursday, June 12, 2025, at 11:00 A.M. in the funeral home chapel. Burial will take place in Restview Cemetery in Loretto, TN.
The family would like to extend their gratitude to Janet Wood and all the home health nurses who cared for Virginia, as well as the Gentiva Hospice Nurses Heather, V, and especially Jessica, who stayed with them until the end. Virginia’s family feels blessed to have had such special people caring for their precious Mother and Nanny.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to the State Line Grove Baptist Church in memory of Virginia Pettus.
