William Carroll “Billy” Nix, 89, of Summertown, Tennessee, passed away on December 31, 2025. He was born on March 2, 1936, in Old Hickory, Tennessee. Billy was known for his warmth, quick wit, and generous spirit. He retired from Stauffer Chemical and was an active member of the Summertown Church of Christ. An avid outdoorsman, he found joy in nature and had a passion for gardening and old westerns. Billy was married to Betty McClain Nix for 69 years and was a devoted father to his daughter, Diana “Doodle” Nix. He was preceded in death by his parents, Carroll and Edith Spears Nix; two sons, Tim Nix and Jeff Nix; and one brother, Jerry Nix. Billy’s legacy lives on through his family and the countless lives he touched. Funeral services will be held at Neal Funeral Home on January 4, 2026, with interment at Summertown Cemetery. He will be dearly missed and remembered fondly.
