William Jamal McElroy, born on February 16, 1992, departed this earth on February 13, 2025, at Maury Regional Medical Center after a prolonged illness. He was a devoted member of Ebenezer Missionary Baptist Church and was known for his love of loud music and his passion for the Denver Broncos. William, affectionately known as “Big Papa” by his friends, had a special place in his heart for his Grand Marquis sitting on 22’s.
He is survived by his loving and devoted mother, Margaret McElroy Cathey, stepfather John Cathey, godmother Jennifer Howard, sisters Kendra Bryant and Lakeisha Slater, stepsisters Bianca Cathey and Chelsea Crosby, god sister Jene Howard, brothers Lamar Bugg and Michael Johnson, and devoted TT’s Ingrid Moody and Sonya Moody. William also leaves behind a host of aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, and cousins.
The funeral service for William Jamal McElroy will be held on Thursday, February 20, 2025, at Temple of Praise Church in Pulaski, Tennessee. The visitation will begin at 12 noon, followed by the 1:00 pm service. Interment will take place at Maplewood Cemetery. Jordan Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements for William Jamal McElroy. He will be dearly missed by all who knew him.
