Willie Neal “Baby Brother” Childress, age 76, of Lawrenceburg, TN, passed away on Friday, January 31st, 2025 at his home in Lawrenceburg. Willie was born on August 14th, 1948 to the late Harry Neal Childress and Betty Evelyn Simpson Childress in Lawrenceburg. Before retiring, Willie worked for many years at Lindsey Manufacturing Company. In his spare time, enjoyed singing and playing guitar, fishing, gardening, working outdoors, and spending time with his loving family and friends. Willie was preceded in death by his daughter, Lisa Childress, and a special friend, Rita Gayle Jones. He is survived by his son, Shawn Brown (Creeshia) of Dallas, TX; sisters, Betty Brown, Jacqueline Nance, and Markita Childress; step children, Patrina Short, Olivia Short, Reggie Short, and Levita Short; grandchildren, Alexis McKinnon and Alona Henry, both of Dallas, TX, Kindre Childress, Jaron Lyles, Monifa Short, Keith; several nieces and nephews, and special friend, Ben Jordan. Visitation will be held at Pettus-Turnbo Funeral Home on Friday, February 17th, 2025 from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. The memorial service will be held immediately following the visitation at 1:00 p.m. The family of Mr. Willie Neal Childress would like to extend their deep gratitude to the staff of Ascension St. Thomas Midtown Hospital, Gentiva Hospice, and Angela Lowe for the love and care shown to them during this difficult time.
