Woman Taken into Custody in Loretto Following Traffic Stop for DUI, Reckless Driving, and Resisting Arrest

On December 24, 2025, officers in Loretto were alerted to be on the lookout for a silver Ford Fusion after a female driver made several frantic calls to dispatch, expressing fears that she was being pursued and was in imminent danger. However, the driver did not disclose her location or the direction in which she was traveling.

As the situation unfolded, dispatch was able to track the vehicle as it entered Loretto. Officers observed the car speeding and swerving, failing to stay within its lane. When the officers attempted to initiate a traffic stop, the driver initially did not comply but eventually came to a halt near the intersection of Commerce Street.

Upon approaching the vehicle, officers identified the driver as Tiffany L. Casner-Delk. She appeared to be in a state of distress and voiced concerns that someone was trying to harm her. Observations made by the officers indicated that she was likely under the influence of narcotics. As they tried to secure her, Casner-Delk resisted, prompting assistance from a retired officer who happened to be nearby until additional law enforcement units arrived on the scene.

Emergency Medical Services were called to the location, and upon assessment, officers confirmed that Casner-Delk was indeed impaired by narcotics. She was subsequently taken into custody and transported to the Lawrence County Jail, where she faces charges including Driving Under the Influence, Reckless Driving, and Resisting Arrest. It is important to note that she is presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.

The Loretto Police Department prioritizes public safety and is committed to ongoing training in mental health crisis response and drug abuse recognition.
