In an effort to support farmers interested in enhancing their value-added products, a series of workshops will be conducted across the state to assist with applications for the USDA Value-Added Producer Grant (VAPG) Program. Scheduled for February 2025, these three informative seminars aim to provide valuable guidance on how to develop a persuasive application for the grant.
The workshops are designed specifically for producers engaged in value-added businesses or those looking to introduce new value-added activities. The USDA offers competitive grants to help these producers finance operations related to innovative product processing and marketing. By participating in these sessions, attendees will have the opportunity to refine their grant proposals and better understand the application process.
Each workshop will take place from 10:00 AM to 3:00 PM, and lunch will be provided for participants. The events are set to occur in three locations: Clinton, Tennessee on February 10th, Jackson, Tennessee on February 12th, and Columbia, Tennessee on February 17th. To ensure a spot, registration must be completed at least five days prior to the chosen workshop date, with a nominal fee of $15 per person.
For those interested in attending, further details and registration information can be found on the Center for Profitable Agriculture’s website. Alternatively, inquiries can be directed to their office by calling 931-486-2777.
