Yvonne Irene Selby

Yvonne (Bonnie) Irene Selby (née Pingry) was born on December 1, 1963 in El Paso, Texas to Richard Pingry and Mary Pingry (née Scott. She was the younger sister to Tanya Ortiz (née Pingry). The family was part of the Department of Defense and spent time in Pennsylvania, Washington, Alabama, Germany, and Taiwan. During her extensive travels she was blessed to experience almost all forms of natural disasters – a fact she was very proud of. She also developed a deep love of culture and the diverse landscape of the United States. While living in Washington, Bonnie met and married Doug Busch. Though this relationship was not permanent they did share a son Matthew Laramie Busch.

Bonnie and Brian met and after a short courtship realized they were soulmates. The two were married on May 22, 1993. The couple were blessed with two children, a daughter Cheyenne and a son Nathan. Bonnie was a homemaker and devoted her life to raising her children in Southern lowa. She loved to spend time with her family and friends. She was an avid reader and a great cook, her kids especially loved her meatloaf. She was very proud of her children and loved them deeply. Her greatest love and favorite child, was her dog Thor. They went on many adventures together. Brian accepted the fact that he had to share the love of his life with the family dog.

Bonnie and Brian moved to Tennessee in 2022 to settle down and enjoy growing old together. That plan was cut short on March 3, 2024. She passed at home with Brian at her side. She was greatly loved and will be greatly missed.

Bonnie is survived by her husband Brian Eudean Selby of Leoma, TN; children Mathew Busch of Kansas City, Cheyenne and Noah Hammonds of Berry, Alabama, and Nathan Selby and Zack Holloway of Knoxville, Tennessee; her sister-in-laws and their spouses and her many nieces and nephews.

Bonnie was proceeded in death by her parents Richard and Mary Pingry, her sister Tanya Ortiz, father-in-law Eudean Selby, mother-in-law Lola Teater (Selby), and step father-in-law Donald Teater.

A memorial service will be held at the Selby Residence on Thursday March 7th, 2024 beginning at 10:00 a.m.
