Bonnie Nell Smith, 89, of Loretto, TN, passed away on November 9, 2025, at NHC Scott Healthcare. She was a dedicated homemaker and a faithful member of the Church of Christ. Bonnie found joy in tending to her flowers, cooking, and comforting the sick. Her funeral service will be held at Loretto Memorial Chapel on November 12, 2025, with burial to follow in Richardson Chapel Cemetery.
She is survived by her nephew, Danny Hughes of Loretto, TN, her near daughter, Stephanie Gooch Frederick (Mark) of Waterloo, and her sister-in-laws, Mary Hughes of Muscle Shoals, AL, and Wanda Smith Killen (Norris) of Killen, AL. Bonnie is also survived by her sister and brother-in-law, Ann Smith and Dwight Smith of Nashville, TN, along with several nieces, nephews, cousins, and family friends.
Bonnie was preceded in death by her husband, Robert Paul Smith, her son, Keith Wayne Smith, her parents, Elzie Hughes and Beatrice Woodham Hughes, her brothers, Glenn Hughes and Hubert Hughes, her sister, Lois Hughes Chandler, her father and mother-in-law, Ted and Bessie Smith, her niece, Kelly Hughes Uhlman, and several brothers and sisters-in-law.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to St. Jude’s Children Hospital or Loretto Church of Christ. Bonnie will be dearly missed by all who knew her.
