In a regular session on Thursday, the Lawrenceburg City Council convened at the Council Meeting Room of the Municipal Complex on 25 Public Square. The agenda was extensive, covering various items that were all voted on and approved.
One of the key items on the agenda was an ordinance to adopt the annual budget and tax rate for the upcoming fiscal year starting on July 1st. Additionally, a resolution was passed to establish a contract with the Tennessee Emergency Management Agency.
Another resolution approved was the purchase order number 2 for Brad Slater Construction’s proposal for the Farmers Market Pavilion. The council also agreed on a resolution to enter into a development agreement with Huntsville LD, LLC.
In a move to strengthen the Board of Utilities, a resolution was passed to appoint Roy Story to the board. It was announced that Lawrenceburg City offices will be closed on Wednesday, June 19th, in observance of Juneteenth. Residents were reminded that residential garbage cart pick up would be on Thursday following the holiday, emphasizing the need to place carts out early due to it being a double route day.
