George Thomas Jones, 62, of Loretto, TN, passed away on December 20, 2025, at Vanderbilt University Medical Center. Born in Corinth, MS, George was a dedicated truck driver for Frito Lay and a cherished member of Loretto United Christian Church.
He is survived by his loving wife, Laura Simbeck Jones, his son Anthony Thomas Jones (Sheena), and his daughter Laura April Jones, all of Loretto, TN. George is also survived by his sister, Peggy Jones Eldridge of Rogersville, AL, and seven adoring grandchildren: Bryson Hughes, Maysie Hughes, Laurali Hughes, Ali Parson, London Parson, Brinlee Parson, and Lydia Jones. Additionally, he is survived by several nieces and nephews.
George was preceded in death by his parents, Albert and Burnice Rogers Jones, as well as his brothers Junior, Eugene, Jimmy, Grady, and Charlie Jones, and his sister Ola Mae Brown.
A funeral service will be held at Loretto Memorial Chapel on Tuesday, December 23, 2025, at 11:00 am, with Mike Ayers and Malcolm Scott officiating. Burial will follow in Richardson Chapel Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 5:00 pm to 8:00 pm on Monday, December 22, 2025, at Loretto Memorial Chapel.
George will be deeply missed by all who knew him, and his memory will live on in the hearts of those he touched. May he rest in peace.
