On Sunday evening, shortly after 9:00 PM, emergency responders from Lawrence County EMS and Fire Rescue were dispatched to the scene of a motor vehicle accident that had resulted in injuries. Upon their arrival, they were informed that one individual was trapped inside the vehicle. A thorough assessment of the situation revealed that the car had veered off the road and tumbled down a steep embankment.
To prevent the vehicle, along with the trapped individual, from sliding further down the incline, the team utilized the winch attached to Chief 2’s unit. Working in unison, the EMS personnel and firefighters carefully placed the patient into a strokes basket, ensuring their safety as they prepared for extraction. To facilitate the ascent of the patient up the challenging hillside and towards the EMS unit for transport, the fire crews, alongside Constable Self, devised a rope and haul system.
Ultimately, Lawrence County EMS successfully transported both individuals involved in the incident from the scene, ensuring they received the necessary medical attention.
