On Friday, June 13th, the Lawrenceburg Sheriff’s Department received an urgent call regarding an individual who had reportedly overdosed. The dispatch indicated that CPR was already being administered and suggested that the individual may have ingested heroin. Upon arrival, Deputy Davis encountered a woman who was actively performing CPR on the unresponsive individual in the bathroom. She promptly stepped aside to allow the deputy to take over the life-saving efforts.
The woman informed Deputy Davis that the person was unconscious, had used heroin, and was not breathing. Upon assessing the situation, the deputy confirmed that the individual was indeed not breathing. In response, he administered 4mg of Narcan into the subject’s nasal cavity and began chest compressions to revive her. After stabilizing the situation, Deputy Davis communicated with dispatch to indicate that it was safe for Emergency Medical Services (EMS) to enter the residence.
Shortly thereafter, EMS member McDow entered the bathroom, accompanied by Deputy Barnett, and began to set up the necessary medical equipment while taking over the care of the individual. As EMS arrived, the subject was moved into the hallway, where she regained consciousness and began calling out for help. Following this, she was transported from the residence to a nearby hospital for further medical attention.
After the emergency situation was addressed, deputies returned to the residence with consent to conduct a search. During this search, they discovered two needles—one empty and the other containing a clear liquid—along with a spoon and a lighter, indicating potential drug use.
