Initial Findings Suggest Madison Inmate Passed Away Due to Cardiac Incident

A preliminary inquiry into the circumstances surrounding the death of an inmate at the Madison County jail in Alabama suggests that the individual may have succumbed to a cardiac event. The inmate, identified as 44-year-old William Fails, reported feeling unwell on January 5 and was subsequently moved to the facility’s medical unit for evaluation. Approximately 30 minutes later, he became unresponsive, prompting staff to initiate life-saving procedures. Following these efforts, he was transported to Huntsville Hospital, where he was later declared dead.

William Fails had been in custody since December 6, facing a murder charge at the time of his passing. Authorities are continuing their investigation into the events leading up to his death to gather more information and determine the full circumstances surrounding this tragic incident.
