Students Required to Register Within Designated Transportation Zone

In response to overcrowding issues in specific school districts, the Lawrence County School System has announced a new enrollment policy for Ethridge, Leoma, Summertown, and Lawrenceburg Public Elementary Schools starting from the 2024-25 academic year. Moving forward, only students residing within their designated Student Transportation Zone will be accepted. However, exceptions may be considered for incoming kindergarten students who have siblings that previously attended these schools and are returning for the upcoming school year. These exceptional cases will still need to go through the standard registration process and submit all necessary documentation.

Additionally, officials have mentioned the possibility of reducing Pre-K offerings to free up space for students from Kindergarten to 8th grade. This adjustment aims to address the current overcrowding situation and ensure a more balanced distribution of students across the different grade levels within the affected schools.
