On Monday, officials in Wayne County came together to celebrate the inauguration of the newly established Wayne County Head Start and Early Head Start facility. This significant event was marked by a ribbon-cutting ceremony, which honored Jim Mangubat, the Wayne County Executive and Chairman of the SCHRA Board.
The newly opened facility is designed to cater to the educational needs of young children and their families. It features a dedicated Head Start preschool classroom, alongside an Early Head Start toddler classroom, ensuring that children from various age groups receive quality early education. Additionally, the building is equipped with a gross motor room, which provides ample space for physical activities, as well as a parent engagement room that fosters community involvement.
Further enhancing the functionality of the facility, there is a teacher workroom, a kitchen for meal preparation, and office space for administrative tasks. Outdoor activities are also well accommodated, with two playgrounds available for children to enjoy. This comprehensive setup aims to create a nurturing environment that supports both learning and development for the youngest members of the community.
