Lawrence County Fire and Rescue recently received exciting news – they have been granted a “Great Wall of Rescue Adaptable Grain Bin Rescue System” along with a specialized training class. This grant application was submitted during Grain Bin Safety Week in February 2024, thanks to a program offered by Nationwide Insurance Company.
The equipment and training session are expected to be delivered towards the end of May or the beginning of June 2024. The Grain Bin Rescue System is a valuable addition to the resources available for emergency situations. Currently, the City of Ethridge Fire Department manages a Grain Bin Rescue Trailer that includes the Great Wall and other essential tools. The plan is to acquire a second enclosed trailer and strategically position it within the county for quicker response times.
If you or someone you know is interested in supporting the Grain Bin Rescue Trailer project, please reach out to Lawrence County Fire Rescue Director Tyler McDow at 931-242-1596. Your contribution could make a significant difference in enhancing emergency response capabilities in the area.
