The situation unfolded on Sunday when deputies were alerted to a disturbing complaint involving a suspect who was allegedly caught in the act of molesting a child under the age of twelve.
Upon arrival, Deputy Bradley Fontenot discovered that the suspect had been restrained by the victim’s family until law enforcement could intervene. The child was promptly transported to a local hospital for necessary medical treatment and evaluation. The accused, identified as 38-year-old Luis Lopez-Martinez, was taken into custody and, during an interrogation, he reportedly admitted to the crime, stating, “It is what it is.”
