A tragic incident unfolded in Lawrence County on Monday evening, resulting in the death of a woman in a single-vehicle accident, as detailed in an initial report from the Tennessee Highway Patrol. The unfortunate event took place around 5:45 p.m. on July 7, along Old Florence Pulaski Road.
According to authorities, 31-year-old Taylor B. Brooks was operating a Geo Tracker while traveling westbound when she encountered a left-hand curve that she was unable to navigate successfully. As a result, the vehicle began to lose control, veering off the road and into a ditch. The Geo Tracker subsequently overturned several times, leading to Brooks being ejected from the vehicle due to the absence of a seat belt. Sadly, she was pronounced dead at the scene of the accident.
After the crash, the vehicle came to a stop on its driver’s side in the eastbound lane, oriented in a southerly direction. The Tennessee Highway Patrol has indicated that, at this time, no charges are expected to be filed, and the investigation into the circumstances surrounding the crash is ongoing.
