Law enforcement authorities in Lawrenceburg are actively investigating a recent incident involving the theft of three vehicles from Heritage Automotive. The theft took place in the early hours of March 1st at approximately 3 AM. The perpetrators, three individuals, gained access to the dealership and made off with a 2024 Corvette Z06, a 2024 GMC Sierra HD 2500 Denali pickup truck, and a 2022 GMC Yukon.
The thieves entered the premises by breaking a window in the service bay before fleeing the scene. Security footage captured the suspects at a gas station in Giles County about 20 minutes later. Although one of the stolen vehicles, the Yukon, was discovered later that day in Birmingham near an abandoned residence, the tracking systems in all three vehicles were disabled after the theft.
Law enforcement officials were able to utilize OnStar for tracking until the systems were deactivated. The Lawrenceburg Police Department is urging anyone with information regarding the incident to come forward and assist with the ongoing investigation.
