Cheryl Rena Newell Whitehurst, age 59, of Chapel Hill, TN, passed away on Saturday, May 24, 2025, at her home, surrounded by her loving husband and daughters. Born on September 4, 1965, in Lawrence County, TN, Cheryl was the daughter of Larry Odell Newell and Shirley June (Yates) Newell. She was a devoted wife, mother, and “Mammie,” finding joy in family gatherings, pontoon rides, and beach trips. Cheryl worked as a bookkeeper and later as a school secretary at Trinity Elementary School in Franklin, TN. She will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved her. A Celebration of Life will be held at a later date. LAWRENCE FUNERAL HOME and CREMATION SERVICES, Chapel Hill, TN, is in charge of arrangements.
