Clyde Richter, 90, of Lawrence County, passed away on February 7, 2025, at the home of his son Kevin and daughter-in-law Carol. Born on September 23, 1934, Clyde was a retired employee of Murray Ohio and a proud veteran who served in the US Army.
A devoted member of Iron City First Baptist Church, Clyde served as a deacon and taught Sunday School for many years. He was known for his love of Jesus and his dedication to sharing his faith with others. He was also passionate about hunting, collecting arrowheads, and preserving the history of Iron City. Clyde enjoyed fishing and relished in eating fried catfish.
Clyde is survived by his son Kevin Richter and wife Carol of Lewisburg, TN, daughter Tammie Richter of Ardmore, TN, grandson Christopher Richter of Columbia, TN, and three great-granddaughters Kayla Grace Richter, Maise Richter, and Chris Anne Richter, all of Lewisburg, TN. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his wife Della Mae Richter, parents Oscar and Emma Richter, and siblings Polly Richter, Lorene Buttrum, Melvin Richter, and Joe Richter.
Visitation will be held on Tuesday, February 11, 2025, from 12:00 PM to 2:00 PM at Loretto Memorial Chapel, followed by the funeral service at 2:00 PM. Burial will take place at Loretto Memorial Gardens. Lifelong friend and fishing buddy Bro Paul Henry Mason will be officiating the service.
Clyde will be dearly missed by all who knew him, and his memory will live on in the hearts of those he touched.
