Hugh Gaylon Kidd, 82, of Summertown, TN, passed away on January 18, 2026, in Fayetteville, TN. He was the beloved owner of Kidd’s Pest Control and a cherished member of Immanuel Baptist Church. Hugh was a native of Summertown, TN, and was known for his love of hunting, fishing, and gardening.
He is survived by his daughter, Sonya Evans (Joshua) of Fayetteville, TN; step-son, David Fleeman (Kendra) of Lawrenceburg, TN; five grandchildren, Jacob McCue, Emily Young, Sebastian Evans, Samuel Evans, and Sean-Luke Evans, all of Fayetteville, TN; and great-grandchild, Henderson Hugh Young of Fayetteville, TN. Hugh is also survived by his five sisters, Joan Bobo (Wade) of Cumberland Furnace, TN, Peggy Field (Mike) of Centerville, TN, Barbara Ann Jensen of Clarksville, TN, Cindy Burns (Danny) of Summertown, TN, and Nancy Pennington of Greenbrier, TN; as well as his honorary friend, Jesse Merritt of Summertown, TN; and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Harley Hugh and Syble Inez Nash Kidd, and his wife, Betty Ezell Kidd.
The family will receive friends from 11:00 AM to 1:00 PM on Wednesday, January 21, 2026, at Neal Funeral Home, 231 N. Military Avenue, Lawrenceburg, Tennessee. Funeral services will be conducted at Neal Funeral Home at 1:00 PM on Wednesday, January 21, 2026, with Beau Jensen officiating. Interment will follow at Kidd Cemetery in Lawrenceburg, TN.
