Lillian Lanning Henson, 82, of Knoxville, Tennessee, passed away on December 13, 2025. She was a beloved member of the Karns Community and a dedicated teacher at West and Karns High School for 33 years. Lillian was born on September 28, 1943, in Lawrenceburg, Tennessee, and graduated from MTSU with a Bachelor’s degree in Mathematics Education. She married her high school sweetheart, Donald Lee Henson, on August 22, 1964.
Lillian was a devoted wife, mother, and grandmother who cherished her family and was an avid supporter of Karns High School Basketball. She had a passion for traveling and enjoyed attending her grandchildren’s activities. Lillian will be remembered for her loving and enriching nature, and she will be dearly missed by all who knew her.
She is survived by her daughter, Holly Peters, and son, Lee Henson, as well as her siblings, grandchildren, great-granddaughter, and numerous nieces and nephews. Lillian was preceded in death by her husband, parents, two brothers, and three sisters.
A memorial visitation and service will be held at Neal Funeral Home in Lawrenceburg, TN, on Friday, December 19, 2025. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to St Jude Children’s Research Hospital or The Girls and Boys Club of Knoxville.
Lillian’s legacy of love and kindness will continue to live on in the hearts of those she touched.
