Over the weekend, a deputy from the Lawrence County Sheriff’s Office responded to a property on Mattoxtown Road following an attempted burglary. Upon arrival, the complainant detailed the incident, stating that while she was outside her home, a male, approximately 155 pounds, approached her. She defended herself by striking him in the knee with a baseball bat, causing him to flee.
Shortly after, a second male, approximately 6 foot 7 with a spider tattoo on his ear, attempted to grab her. The complainant once again used the bat to defend herself, backing the second male against the house. However, he retaliated by kicking her in the knee and punching her in the stomach before fleeing the scene.
The Lawrence County Sheriff’s Office is urging anyone with information about the incident to come forward and contact them.
