In December 2025, the Lawrence County Emergency Medical Services (EMS) responded to a total of 588 calls, successfully transporting 400 patients to various medical facilities. Among these transfers, 53 patients were taken to Maury Regional Medical Center, while 8 were transported to North Alabama Medical Center. Additionally, 1 patient was transferred to STRHS-Pulaski, and 41 patients were moved to hospitals in other counties.
The EMS team also managed a variety of other calls, including 112 instances where patients refused care or did not require any medical attention. They were involved in 30 calls for fire standby, law enforcement assistance, or mutual aid requests, and they recorded 57 instances where calls were canceled or no patients were found at the scene. In addition to their emergency response duties, EMS crews organized and conducted 4 community outreach events focused on lifesaving training.
When comparing the call volume for December 2025 to previous months, it was noted that the number of calls was slightly higher than that of November 2025, although it remained lower than the call volume recorded in December 2024. To ensure their skills remain sharp, responders engaged in ongoing education through a 24/7 online system and participated in the South Central EMS Directors Association Last Chance Conference. Furthermore, seven students successfully completed the Emergency Medical Responder program at LCHS and are now eligible to take the National Registry exam, marking a significant achievement in their training.
