A man from Leighton is facing multiple felony charges following a police raid at his residence earlier this week, where authorities uncovered a significant amount of illegal substances. According to reports, Sgt. Evans from the Leighton Police Department secured a search warrant for a property located on Clark Street within the city limits on Sunday, June 15th, 2025. The execution of this warrant took place the following day, June 16th, with assistance from the Colbert County Sheriff’s Office.
During the operation, law enforcement officials discovered approximately 1.3 ounces of methamphetamine, which had been individually packaged for distribution purposes. In addition to the meth, officers found 2.25 ounces of marijuana, two different types of controlled substance pills, and various items associated with drug use. As a direct result of these findings, 46-year-old Eric Bryant was arrested and now faces several charges, including Drug Trafficking involving methamphetamine, two counts of Unlawful Possession of a Controlled Substance, Possession of Marijuana in the first degree, and Possession of Drug Paraphernalia.
Following his arrest, Bryant was taken to the Colbert County Jail, where he is currently being held on a bond set at $85,000. The investigation continues as authorities work to address the ongoing issues related to drug trafficking in the area.
