Rebecca Joyce Ray, an 85-year-old resident of Lawrenceburg, Tennessee, passed away peacefully at her home on Tuesday, June 17, 2025. A lifelong resident of Lawrenceburg, she dedicated a significant part of her life to serving as a bus driver for the Lawrence County School System before retiring. Rebecca was an active member of the Canaan Freewill Baptist Church, where she found community and fellowship.
In her free time, she enjoyed exploring yard sales, as well as indulging her passion for cooking and baking, activities that brought her much joy. Rebecca’s legacy is marked by her loving family, which includes her children: Jerry P. Ray and his wife Angelia, who reside in Lawrenceburg; Ronnie Ray and his wife Jennifer from Ethridge; and Michelle Huntley along with her husband Rex, who live in Leoma. She also leaves behind a large family, including ten grandchildren, twenty-two great-grandchildren—one of whom is on the way—and a great-great-grandchild who is also expected soon.
Rebecca was preceded in death by her parents, Fount Wiley Rochelle, Sr. and Velma Gobble Rochelle, her husband Bobby Paul Ray, and her brother Fount Rochelle, Jr.
