Court documents recently unveiled serious allegations against a man from Tuscumbia, who is facing charges of theft of property and home repair fraud. The situation began on September 4, 2024, when a homeowner in Killen entered into a contract with 28-year-old Calvin Chase Pennington for some necessary home repairs. Unfortunately, Pennington did not fulfill his obligations as stipulated in their agreement.
The homeowner reported that Pennington had accepted a deposit of $3,000 intended for materials to replace the deck but failed to deliver on the promised work. Frustrated by the lack of progress and communication, the victim reached out to the Lauderdale County Sheriff’s Office on October 21, 2024, to file a report regarding the incident. Efforts to contact Pennington proved futile, as both phone numbers he had provided were found to be disconnected.
Further attempts to locate him through an ex-girlfriend and at his last known address were also unsuccessful, as noted by the investigating sergeant. Ultimately, law enforcement apprehended Pennington on the afternoon of February 17, 2025, and he was subsequently taken to the Lauderdale County Detention Center to face the charges against him.
