The Tennessee Highway Patrol has issued an initial report regarding a tragic incident that took place on Highway 43 in Leoma on Sunday, May 11th. At approximately 3:20 PM, a Chevrolet Malibu, carrying two juveniles and a 20-year-old, was heading northbound on U.S. Highway 43. Simultaneously, a Ford F150, driven by a 58-year-old man and accompanied by a 55-year-old woman, was traveling south on the same highway.
The driver of the Malibu was unable to navigate a right curve, leading the vehicle to cross over the continuous left turn lane and both southbound lanes. The two vehicles collided head-on, with the impact occurring on the southbound shoulder as the driver of the Ford F150 attempted to evade the Malibu. Fortunately, all occupants in both vehicles were wearing seatbelts at the time of the crash, which is a critical safety measure.
Despite this precaution, the collision resulted in injuries for everyone involved, and sadly, one of the juveniles was pronounced dead at the scene. In response to the serious nature of the injuries sustained, at least three individuals were transported to hospitals in Nashville for further medical treatment. As of now, the condition of those hospitalized remains unclear.
In light of this unfortunate event, Radio7 Media extends heartfelt condolences and support to the families affected, as well as to the first responders who were on the scene during this devastating incident.
