Commission Gifts K-9 JoJo to New Caretaker

In a recent meeting held on Tuesday, the Lawrence County Commissioners took a significant step by designating K-9 JoJo from the Lawrence County Sheriff’s Department as surplus property. This decision paves the way for JoJo to be entrusted to his current caretaker, Shelbey Ebersole. JoJo, a dedicated K-9, was originally gifted to the department by the Lewis County Sheriff’s Department back in May. Tragically, his handler, Investigator Anthony Cutcher, lost his life in a motorcycle accident shortly thereafter. Since that unfortunate event, JoJo has been under the loving care of Cutcher’s companion, Ebersole. The resolution passed by the commissioners facilitates the transfer of ownership of JoJo to Ebersole, ensuring that the bond between them continues.
