The upcoming meeting of the Lawrence County Board of Education will commence with the recognition of the LCSS Character Trait. Following this, attendees will participate in the Pledge of Allegiance, after which a roll call will be conducted to confirm the presence of board members.
An update on capital projects will be provided by ESG, detailing the current status and progress of various initiatives. The meeting will also include a segment dedicated to student recognition, specifically highlighting achievements from Ethridge Elementary School.
Public comments will be welcomed, allowing community members to voice their thoughts and concerns regarding educational matters.
The board will then move on to consent items, which will be voted on collectively. These items include the adoption of the meeting agenda, approval of the minutes from the previous meeting held on September 25, 2025, and the approval of the business report. Additionally, the TISA Accountability Report will be reviewed, along with the approval of volunteers and several overnight field trips. Notable trips include the DCES Junior Beta Convention in Nashville, TN from November 21-23, 2025, a softball tournament for SHS in Gulf Shores, AL from March 8-11, 2026, and the EOC Ambassadors event in Pigeon Forge, TN from May 1-4, 2026. Other trips include the EOC Junior Beta Convention in Nashville, TN from November 23-25, 2025, and two boys’ basketball tournaments for LHS in Lebanon, TN on November 24-25 and December 22-23, 2025. Lastly, the LCHS Band will participate in the Fantasy of Lights Parade in Gatlinburg, TN from December 4-6, 2025.
In the report items section, Principal Christy Crews will present a school report for Ethridge Elementary School, followed by a personnel report and an update from the Director. The board will also review a report on state compliance, as well as updates from the LCEA and the Tennessee Legislative Network. Delegates will be appointed for the upcoming TSBA Annual Convention in Nashville, TN.
