A community initiative is currently in progress to assist families in need through the Feeding LawCo food drive, which is set to take place from October 31 to November 12. This drive is designed to gather non-perishable food items aimed at supporting residents of Lawrence County who may be experiencing difficulties due to the temporary halt of federal SNAP benefits.
Among the items that are most urgently needed are canned goods, rice, pasta, oatmeal, cereal, peanut butter, shelf-stable milk, cooking oil, boxed meal kits, and other essential pantry staples. Residents wishing to contribute can drop off their donations at several locations, including Summertown Medical Center, Heritage Automotive, Rustic Hinge, and the First Baptist Church Christ Life Center in Lawrenceburg, as well as In-Service Towing in Loretto.
Additionally, a food box distribution event is scheduled for Saturday, November 15, starting at 9 a.m. at 1107 Buffalo Road in Lawrenceburg. This distribution will continue until all available food has been handed out. For those seeking further information or wishing to volunteer, inquiries can be directed to Nicole Miller at (931) 242-8006. For questions regarding donations, individuals can reach out to Bo’s Blessings at (931) 244-0590.
