Mrs. Barbara Joyce Matthews, 68, of Prospect, Tennessee, passed away on January 24, 2025, at Maury Regional Hospital. She was born on June 22, 1956, in Pulaski, Tennessee. Barbara was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, sister, and friend, known for her kind and loving nature. She will be deeply missed and forever cherished.
A celebration of her life will be held at Bennett-May & Pierce Funeral Home and Crematory on February 1, 2025, with visitation from 3:00 pm to 5:00 pm. The funeral service will take place on February 2, 2025, at 2:00 pm at the Farmers Indian Creek Missionary Baptist Tabernacle in Elkton, Tennessee, followed by burial at Union Hill Cemetery in Elkton, Tennessee.
Barbara is survived by her husband David S. Matthews, two daughters, Melissa (Shawn) Moore and Kecia (Victor) Bledsoe, one son, David Fletcher, nine grandchildren, and one great-grandchild, as well as siblings, nieces, nephews, and other relatives and friends.
