Charles Edward “Charlie” Bishop, 89, of Lawrenceburg, TN, passed away on February 4, 2026, at his residence. He was a retired farmer and mechanic, a proud member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church, and served honorably in the U.S. Coast Guard. Charlie was born in Gretna, NE, to E. A. and Ruby Jessen Bishop.
He is survived by his loving wife, Joan Niedergeses Bishop, his son Greg Bishop (Lindsay), and three grandsons, Jase, Luke, and Beau. He is also survived by four brothers, Phil Bishop, Willard Bishop, Ken Bishop, and Joe Bishop, along with several nieces and nephews.
Charlie was preceded in death by his parents and two brothers, Carroll Bishop and Howard Bishop. The family would like to extend a special thanks to Volunteer Hospice and their team of caregivers.
The family will receive friends on Saturday, February 7, 2026, at Neal Funeral Home, with a Prayer Vigil at 12:00 PM, officiated by Father Andrew Forsythe. Interment will be held at Calvary Cemetery in Lawrenceburg, Tennessee, with military honors. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorials be made to Sacred Heart Catholic Church or the American Cancer Society.
