Hollis Oliver “Sam” Hartsfield

Hollis Oliver “Sam” Hartsfield, 76, of Loretto, TN, passed away on Wednesday, May 21, 2025, at NHC Lawrenceburg after an extended illness. He was a retired employee of Murray Ohio and a devoted member of the Southern Baptist faith. Hollis, known to many as “Sam,” was a native of Lawrence County, TN.

Funeral services will be held at Loretto Memorial Chapel on Saturday, May 24, 2025, at 1:00 pm, with Ricky Cotton officiating. Following the service, he will be laid to rest in Bonnertown Cemetery. Visitation will take place from 11:00 am to 1:00 pm on the same day at Loretto Memorial Chapel.

Hollis is survived by his loving wife, Peggy Cotton Hartsfield of Loretto, TN, and his children: Jason Hartsfield (Nicki) of Loretto, TN, Joey Hartsfield (Leann) of Center Star, AL, Micah Hartsfield (Laura) of Lawrenceburg, TN, Blake Hartsfield (Courtney) of Weaver, AL, Sonya Corbin (Jimmy) of Five Points, TN, and Stacey Mewbourn (Adam) of Lexington, AL. He is also survived by his brothers Earl F. Hartsfield (Joyce) of Wellington, AL, and Travis Hartsfield of Lawrenceburg, TN, as well as his sisters Frances Hartsfield of Five Points, TN, Jane Henson (James) of Leoma, TN, and Mary Nell Morrison of Five Points, TN. Hollis leaves behind 15 cherished grandchildren.

Hollis will be deeply missed by all who knew him, and his memory will be cherished by his family and friends. May he rest in peace.
