James Doke Eddy, age 92, of Loretto, TN, passed away on Monday, February 24, 2025, at STRHS-Lawrenceburg after a brief illness. He was a native of Lauderdale Co, AL, a veteran of the United States Army, retired from Browns Ferry, and a devoted member of Liberty Grove Baptist Church.
He is survived by his four sons: Larry Eddy of Loretto, TN, Randy Eddy (Jeanie) of Ozark, AL, Steve Eddy (Stephanie) of Springhill, TN, and Mark Eddy of Loretto, TN. He is also survived by his sister, Martha Thigpen of Anderson, AL, eight grandchildren, and one great-grandson.
James was preceded in death by his wife, Donna Smith Eddy, his parents Ervin and Corene Green Eddy, his brothers John, Jent, Bob, Charles, and Royce Eddy, his sister Pearline Pulley, his daughter Susie Eddy, and his son Glenn Eddy.
Funeral services will be held at Liberty Grove Baptist Church on Sunday, March 2, 2025, at 3:00 pm, with Brock Kilburn officiating. Visitation will take place from 1:30 PM to 3:00 PM on the same day at the church. Burial will follow in Pettus Cemetery.
James will be remembered for his dedication to his family, his service to his country, and his unwavering faith. He will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him.
