Mary Joy McNeese, age 86, passed away on January 17, 2026, at The Rutherford Assisted Living in Murfreesboro, Tennessee. Born on November 15, 1939, in Pulaski, TN, to the late Mahlon Dean McNeese and Clariss Kathleen McNeese, she was a beloved member of her community.
Joy was a dedicated employee of Genesco Corporation in Nashville, Tennessee for 55 years and a faithful member of Tusculum Hills Baptist Church in Nashville. She was a graduate of Beech Hill High School, Class of 1958, and Columbia Business College.
She is survived by her brother, James D. McNeese (Edna) of Tullahoma, Tennessee; and nephews Donald McNeese (Tina) of Tullahoma, Tennessee, and Ronald McNeese (Sue) of Gainesville, Georgia. She also leaves behind great-nieces Megan Smith (Evan) of Tullahoma, TN, Whitney Aussiker (Matt) of Hillsboro, TN, and great-nephews Michael McNeese (Kate) of Dawsonville, GA, Matt McNeese (Emily) of Dawsonville, GA.
A Memorial Service will be held on Saturday, January 31, 2026, at Carr and Erwin Funeral Home in Pulaski, Tennessee, with visitation from 10:00 am to 11:00 am and services at 11:00 am. Carr and Erwin Funeral Home are in charge of arrangements.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the charity of one’s choice. Mary Joy McNeese will be dearly missed by all who knew her. May she rest in peace.
