Mary Sharpton Hildreth, age 90, of Columbia, TN, passed away on Tuesday, April 1, 2025, at Maury Regional Medical Center. Mary was a beloved member of the community, known for her dedication to her family and her faith. She was a retired hairdresser at Castner Knott and a devoted member of Calvary Hill Church of God.
Mary was preceded in death by her parents, Elmer and Lovie Woodall Sharpton, her husband, B.A. Hildreth, her son-in-law, Wayne Edwards, and her brother, James Sharpton. She is survived by her daughter, Cindy Edwards, her grandson Tim Edwards (Mary Grace), and her great-granddaughter, Allie Grace Edwards. Mary is also survived by her brother, Glenn Sharpton, her sister-in-law, Margaret Sharpton, and several nieces and nephews.
The funeral services will be held at Dunn United Methodist Church at 1:00 PM on Friday, April 4, 2025, with Tim Edwards officiating. Interment will follow at Dunn Cemetery in Leoma, TN. Arrangements are being handled by Neal Funeral Home in Lawrenceburg, Tennessee.
Mary will be deeply missed by all who knew her. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to a charity of your choice in Mary’s memory. She will be remembered for her kindness, generosity, and unwavering love for her family. May she rest in peace.
