Nicholas “Nick” Kyle Melton, 35, of Lexington, passed away on May 25, 2025, at North Alabama Medical Center. He was a beloved crane operator for Nucor Steel and a dedicated member of New Hope Baptist Church. Nick was a proud 2008 graduate of Rogers High School.
He is survived by his father, Petey Melton; mother, Shelia Diane Jones; daughters, Aria Melton and Kyleigh Melton; and grandmother, Marlin “Maw-Maw” Taylor.
He was preceded in death by his maternal grandfather, Royce Richardson; paternal grandparents, Noah Pee Wee Melton and Coreitha Ann Melton; and great-grandparents, Buford and Mary Richardson and James and Ruth Dison.
Visitation will be held on Tuesday, May 27, 2025, from 11:00 am to 1:00 pm at Greenhill Funeral Home. The funeral service will follow at 1:00 pm in the funeral home chapel, with Jacob Murphree officiating. Burial will take place at New Hope Baptist Church Cemetery.
The pallbearers will be Colby Jones, Chris Hughes, James Risner, Christopher Henley, Collin Belue, and Noah Parker. Honorary pallbearers include Caleb Pigg, Zeke Pigg, Hunter Jones, Josh Dison, David Dison, Timothy Weeks, Tyler Waddell, Tyler Jones, and Clay Belue.
Greenhill Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements. Nicholas will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him. May he rest in peace.
