Shirley Ann Young of Pulaski, TN passed away on Monday, April 15, 2024. She was born in Pulaski, TN on August 4, 1944 and was 79 years old.
Shirley was a member of the Tabernacle Missionary Baptist Church. She loved to sing and sang in the church choir. She cleaned houses for 40 years. She was a loving mother and grandmother and loved spending time with her family especially enjoying Sundays where she would cook dinner for her family. She loved spoiling her grandchildren and great grandchildren and being able to attend their ballgames.
A visitation will be held on Friday, April 19th, 2024 from 5:00pm until 7:00pm at Bennett-May & Pierce Funeral Home and Crematory.
A visitation will also be held on Saturday, April 20th, 2024 from 12:00pm until 1:00pm with the funeral service to follow at 1:00pm in the chapel of Bennett-May & Pierce Funeral Home and Crematory.
Burial will be in Goodspring Cemetery
Shirley was preceded in death by, her husband, James Young, son, Charles Young, and sister, Alice Major
She is survived by,
Daughter, Laquita (Dennis) Houston of Pulaski
Son, Lafayette Young of Kentucky
Son, Thomas Nelson of Pulaski
Son, Kendrick Young of Pulaski
Brothers, Andrew, Nathaniel, and Ernest McFarland all of Kentucky
Brother-in-law, AJ Young of Pulaski
Sister-in-law, Maettea Marshall of Kentucky
Daughter-in-laws, Linda Young and Brenda Young of Pulaski
Grandchildren, Virletta Reynolds, Veshaundra Young, Kendrick Rakim Young, Kasob Young, Lafayette Young, Jr, Laurence Reynolds, Kendrick Young, Jr., and Trevan Young
A very special friend, John “Bean” Strong of Fayetteville
Host of grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces, nephews, cousins, and special friends also survive
