Wallace Delton Gray, 81, of Rogersville, passed away on January 12, 2025, at his residence. He was a retired carpenter from Reynolds and had also retired from the Lauderdale County School System after serving as a bus driver for 17 years. Wallace was a devoted member of Greenhill United Methodist Church.
He is survived by his loving wife of 63 years, Carolyn Green Gray, his son Jeff Gray (Jennifer), daughter Jennifer Thigpen, grandchildren Kirk Thigpen, Colby Thigpen (AnnaBeth), Sydney McGaughey (John), and Connor Gray (Payton), as well as great-grandchildren Chloe Thigpen, Reece Thigpen, Charli Jo Thigpen, Madison Purdy, Kaitlyn Wisdom, and Ty Caperton.
Wallace was preceded in death by his parents, Hollis and Lucille Gray, his brother Charles Edward Gray, and sister-in-law Mildred Gray.
Visitation will be held on Thursday, January 16, 2025, from 5:00 – 7:00pm, at Greenhill Funeral Home. A graveside service will take place on Friday, January 17, 2025, at 11:00am, at Greenhill Cemetery, with Bro. Gregg Woodard officiating. Burial will follow at Greenhill Cemetery. The pallbearers will be his grandsons, great-grandsons, and Greg Lovell.
Greenhill Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements. Wallace will be dearly missed by all who knew him. May he rest in peace.
