Martha Scott Wiser Tallent, 94, of Pulaski, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, March 19th at NHC Healthcare Pulaski. Martha was born in Giles County on December 16th, 1930. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, and great grandmother, known for her warm and welcoming nature. Martha was a long-time member of 2nd Church of Christ in Pulaski and worked in retail at Reeves Drug Store and Porter Pharmacy for over 50 years. She was an active member of Pulaski BPW, Ladies Auxiliary of VFW, and VFW of Pulaski.
A visitation will be held on Saturday, March 22nd, 2025 from 11:00am to 2:00pm at Bennett-May & Pierce Funeral Home and Crematory, followed by a funeral service at 2:00pm in the chapel. Martha will be laid to rest at Maplewood Cemetery in Pulaski, TN.
Martha’s deep love for animals, especially dogs and cats, was well-known. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations to be made to Giles County Humane Association or a preferred animal shelter.
Martha was preceded in death by her husbands, Bill Wiser and Bill Tallent, as well as her parents, David Nathaniel and Allie Mae Scott, her sister Louise Goats, and brother Robert Earl Scott. She is survived by her daughter, Pam (Ralph) Souders, granddaughter Rachel (Keith) Wesseling, and great granddaughter Abigail Ruth Wesseling. Martha is also survived by her niece, nephew, step-daughter, step-grandchildren, step-great-grandchildren, and great nieces and nephews.
Bennett-May & Pierce Funeral Home and Crematory is in charge of the arrangements for Martha Ruth Scott Wiser Tallent. She will be dearly missed by all who knew her.
