In a recent announcement, the Tennessee Wildlife Resources Agency (TWRA) revealed the findings from the state’s 2024 Spring Wild Turkey hunting season. The data shows a total reported harvest of 31,647 turkeys, which reflects a slight decrease of 155 turkeys (1 percent) compared to the previous year’s numbers. Additionally, this figure represents a 5 percent decline from the average harvest over the past five years, which stood at 33,202.
Similar to the previous season, both the youth and opening weekends saw significant numbers in terms of turkey harvest. Looking ahead, the 2025 Spring Turkey season is scheduled to take place from April 12 to May 25, with the Young Sportsman Hunt set for the weekend of April 5-6.
