Additionally, the Giles County Public Library will be granted $1,841 for similar purposes, including the hiring of digital literacy instructors and the procurement of Wi-Fi hotspots and internal internet enhancements.
The TOP Grants are made possible through funding from the Tennessee Department of Economic and Community Development and are managed by the Secretary of State’s office. These grants are designed to empower public libraries across Tennessee to meet the specific needs of their communities. The resources available through the TOP Grants encompass a range of offerings, such as digital literacy training, the provision of hotspots, solar charging stations, and improved internet access within library facilities. This year, a total of $291,405 in TOP Grant funding is being distributed to enhance technological access at 54 public libraries throughout the state.
