On the evening of February 21st, a significant operation was carried out by agents from the Colbert County Drug Task Force, in collaboration with the Colbert County Sheriff’s Office. This operation took place on Milner Street in Sheffield, where law enforcement initiated a traffic stop on a vehicle due to the driver having outstanding warrants issued by the Sheffield Police Department.
When the deputies requested permission to search the vehicle, the driver declined, which led to the involvement of the Florence Police Department’s K-9 unit. The canine’s alert indicated the presence of illegal substances within the vehicle. Following this, a thorough search was conducted, revealing a substantial quantity of methamphetamine weighing 203 grams, along with a significant amount of cash totaling $51,606 in U.S. currency.
As a result of this operation, Ricky Leon Allen, a 47-year-old resident of Sheffield, was taken into custody on charges of cocaine trafficking. He is currently being held at the Colbert County Jail, with a bond set at $250,000.
