The incident took place near Highway 72, just west of I-65, prompting police to respond to the scene. Investigators have determined that the pedestrian was traveling westbound on Highway 72 when Gray’s vehicle, which was moving in the opposite direction, struck the individual. After the collision, the vehicle continued east on Highway 72, leaving the scene without stopping to assist.
The pedestrian, who was injured in the incident, was promptly transported to Huntsville Hospital for medical attention. As of now, the individual is reported to be in stable condition and is awaiting surgery to address their injuries.
