A woman has been charged with manslaughter following a tragic accident in Colbert County, where she allegedly had drugs and alcohol in her system at the time of the incident. Emma Claire Snipes, a 25-year-old resident of Tuscumbia, was indicted by a grand jury in Colbert County for the death of 76-year-old Jimmie D. Smallwood, also from Tuscumbia. The collision occurred on Alabama Highway 20, south of Muscle Shoals, in November 2023, as reported by Alabama Troopers.
Upon arrival at the scene, authorities pronounced Smallwood dead.
